We'll guide you every step of the way!

Choose your photos wisely.  This the most essential task. Make it easier by sorting your favorite and highest quality shots. Digital format is best, however, if you want to use original photos, don't worry about scratches or other damage; we can probably correct them.  Try to leave out any out-of-focus or grainy photos if possible.

Number each photo by placing a sticky note on the back. Do not write on the photo, as this will compromise the life expectancy of your photo.

If you are providing digital files, rename each file with the number (i.e. 027.jpg); Or, have them in the order you want them in the DVD.  Sticky notes can easily be applied to the clear protective sleeves you'll use for slides and negatives.

Decide what type of show you would like. Do you want an emotional and slow moving show? Or would you prefer a peppy and uplifting show? Perhaps you would like to have a range of emotions within the show, combining songs to set the mood. This will help you choose your music. We can offer suggestions, however the music is a very personal decision. Please provide us with your original CD, or we will provide music from our library for you to use.  If the music is not provided or not in our library, we will purchase music for you on your behalf. You must own each song for your own personal use to comply with copywrite laws. The number of photos you have will determine how many songs you will need.  A good rule of thumb is 5-6 seconds of song time per photo. We can compress or extend the transitions to make them fit the song, but please choose more music if you have a large number of photos.

    Prepare your materials

If local: you can bring them to us personally.

If photos need to be shipped:  It is recommended that you send your photos via an insured traceable method.  Be sure to package them so that your photos will not be damaged. We will do the same when it is time to return your photos

Helpful Tips

  • When possible plan on 4 weeks before you need     date (except for funeral memorials).

  • One picture per frame should be planned.

  • Loose photos are best; take pictures out of photo albums and frames if possible.

  • Grouping photos by using envelopes can help.

  • Placing photos in chronological order (oldest photos first, most recent last) is best.

  • Every picture should be numbered on the back - sequentially, beginning with 1.
  • When numbering pictures it is safest to use stick on notes on the back - Ink on back of the photo itself can rub off on the face of the next photo - ruining it .

  • If you want a title page between sections of the video let us know and we will create them for you.

Keep in mind these are treated as a photo.

  • Drawings, poems, notes, etc. can be scanned and inserted as a photo if you have special keepsakes that you want included.

  • Indicate the order of the songs you want used and where in the presentation you would like them .

  • Customer provided songs must be on store-bought CDs. Your CD(s) will be returned with your pictures.
  • Be prepared with songs and pictures numbered; feel free to call with any questions.
